It holds back thousands of pounds of soil, manages water flow, and must withstand decades of freeze and thaw cycles, seismic activity, and root intrusion. At Trueform Hardscapes, every retaining wall begins with a full site assessment. We evaluate slope angle, soil composition, water table depth, surcharge loads from structures or vehicles above, and drainage patterns across the property. This data determines the wall design: base depth, setback angle, geogrid reinforcement spacing, and drainage provisions. We do not guess at these specifications because a wall that looks good but fails structurally is worse than no wall at all.

We install retaining walls using industry leading systems from Allan Block, Belgard, and Unilock, as well as natural stone and boulder walls where the design calls for it. Every wall includes proper excavation to engineered depth, compacted granular base material, perforated drainage pipe with filter fabric behind the wall face, and backfill to specification. Geogrid reinforcement is installed at calculated intervals for walls that exceed standard gravity limits.

Our installers are ICPI certified, meaning they have completed advanced training in segmental retaining wall design and installation. This certification matters because it means we follow the exact manufacturer specifications that activate the full product warranty. A wall installed outside of spec may look identical on the surface but will not carry the same structural guarantee.
